As per press reports, the night trains on Rourkela-Howrah routes are starting from today ie. 11 Dec 2011. There has been a long period of agitation and demand from all stakeholders on its resumption since May 2010, when in a very cowardly move the then Railway Minister, probably as a gesture of sympathy to Maoist stopped night services.
I know it is too difficult to believe unless it actually materialises tonight. The past diversion / rescheduling notification was upto Dec 10th and there were press reporting originating from Tata suggesting early resumption of night trains.
I was suppose to travel to Durgapur in the first week of Jan 2012. It was consuming three days. With night trains, the journey reduces to one day only.
What a relieve …..
