Khandadhar waterfall is located amidst the forest of Sundergarh. It lies about 104 from Rourkela via Bonaigarh which is 19 km from the waterfall. It is 19 km. (12 miles)to the south-east of Bonaigarh and can be reached by a fair-weather road, the last 1.6 km. is, however, negotiable by foot.
The height of the fall is 244 mtrs. It is the highest waterfall of the state. The magnificent sight, high amidst lush green forests, makes a great picnic spot. This waterfalls, created by a small rivulet named Korapani Nala, plummets from a height of 800 ft. It surroundings form a perfect base for trekking and sightseeing. The best time to visit here is from October to March.
Goddess Kanta is the known deity of the tribals of the this locality. It is a pleasant spot amidst thick jungles and mountains ideal for nature lovers.
On reaching, a weary visitor would soon forget the strain of the arduous journey. It is a hidden treasure of nature. The scene created by the glittering waters that trickle down the magnificent waterfall can best be enjoyed from mountain top.

As more or less every one know this, the ignorance of our ancient state.
It is no where given importants in the map of tourism.Our Government also very poor,in this regard. I never could be able to understand, what is the barrier to promot Our State Odisha’s Tourism. Undoubtedly this is one of the best place in India. Anyone who have visited this place will never forget the lovely, greenish, beautiful and heart touching sites of Khandadhar.
I have visited this place four times during the month of January for Picnic, and each time it feels like I have came to a new place.
It feels very bad when one has to leave his birthplace (ROURKELA), but I am always looking forward to comeback to my hometown and do something for the betterment of my lovely state, ODISHA.
I am frm ctc. I visit khandadhar once. It’s awesome spot. It’s God gift for us. But shame to our gov policy for promot our tourism spot.
Even khandadhar is not exist in google map.

it is a very nice place in remote sundergarh district of Odisha, but now it is in the path of destruction due to industrialisation in the state. cruel eyes of the mine mafias ruin it in short time. our future generation will only read about it in in geography.save it……
Govt of Odisha has chosen this to promote gay tourisum in India.
govt. of odisha hav to donate some finance for it’s development .I feel proud bcoz my village is nearer from this spot.
